Adventure Log: Day Date With My Best Friend

It was a really stressful couple of weeks, so I decided to spend a morning/afternoon with my best friend. Her and I love food so we went out to different places and had our own little food adventure.

Our first stop was a place called, “CaliiLove”. My best friend, Liz, had been dying to go there ever since she fell in love with it on Instagram. She sent me posts and it peeked my interest too since it looked healthy yet delicious. The place was like stepping into a beachside food joint, really calming and colourful. The food represented it too. The interesting thing about this place was the menu, you order things according to how you feel, and as you can see I was feeling loved. Each emotion had a description of what the plate was going to have. They also served coffee which is good for two girls that have a serious caffeine addiction. This place also offers coconut milk and almond milk for the vegans, the staff knows a lot about the food items so that everyone can enjoy . I’m excited to visit this place again in the summer time.

Their motto is “good vibes only” which is exactly how you feel stepping in, sitting down and eating and also as you leave. It was a great start to the day.

After that we walked around for a bit along Queen Street since that’s our thing. I haven’t seen my best friend in a long time so it was nice to just catch up with her. Yes we text and communicate over social media, but nothing beats actually seeing her and hugging her and giggling with her. She also surprised me big time by dying her hair.

It was a surprise but it suited her a lot. She’s really bubbly and sweet and extremely colourful. The exact opposite of me actually, I don’t know how we work but we do and that’s all that matters.

Another “tradition” of ours is to take a photo booth picture at Urban Outfitters since that is our favourite store to visit together. Our old one needed an update since we both like doing crazy things to our hair, whether that be cutting it drastically short or dying it fun colours.

I eventually got hungry after all the walking we did and I really wanted some ramen. So we made a stop by “Touhenboku Ramen” since it was on our way to the station. It was a good way to warm up since the day was a little chilly.

With our bellies stuffed and my midterm needing to be written, we parted ways after we got ramen. In total I only spend a few hours with Liz, but every minute is really happy when you spend it with someone who you can be silly and yourself with. Basically, what I’m trying to say is, even if you’re stressed and you feel so many emotions and start panicking, there are still people who care about you and you should take a break to go see them. Surround yourself with people who are kind, who are funny without ever being mean, and who make you smile and remind you that you are loved. So even for a few hours, give them a call, FaceTime them or invite them out for coffee. Just remind yourself that your grades do not define how wonderful you are. Just breathe. You got this.

Tea Talks: Puberty Hit Me Softly 🍵

The insecurities of every human being is unique. As well as the set of qualities in every individual that let people love and care about that person. These two sets of things are always the same. We tend to see ourselves in a negative light, but others see good in our flaws. That’s why they stick around. However, it baffles me that so many little girls are becoming more self conscious about their weight, height, hair, face, looks, and so on.

Style Potato: Comfy Sweaters ❄️

As a new college student, getting up and getting dressed everyday is a little harder when you can’t seem to see which colour is which at 5 am to get ready for your 8 am class. I know this is probably just a case of extreme laziness, but I’m a potato. I’ve been trying to dress appropriately according to the weather cause I’ve been trying to get over a cold recently.

As we all can probably feel that winter is getting colder and colder which means sweaters! I probably have too many sweaters but I’m always tempted to buy more. It’s a very bad temptation, so I’ve recently been thinking of new ways to style my sweaters that I have already. I’ve come up with three different ways to style them 🙂

{Black Knit Jumper – H&M, Blue Distressed Jeans – EXPRESS}

First off, the basic sweater and distressed jeans. It’s not rocket science, but to me it is. I really like this look paired with a messy bun and some converse.

{Beige Sweater Dress – OAK + FORT, Black Shiny Tights – Garage, Black Lace Bralette – aerie}

Second, it’s a cute little sweater dress with pockets! I love pockets so much, it makes things so much easier. It is quiet cold so I like to pair this with shiny black leggings and booties. Another really good thing about sweaters is that you can wear a bralette with them and be super duper comfortable.

{Fuzzy Baby Blue Sweater – Garage, White Collar Shirt – Forever 21, High Waist Black Skinnies – TOPSHOP}

This is probably my favourite look out of the three, I just don’t wear it all the time because I don’t have time. I like the soft pastel colour, and this sweater is actually super fuzzy, and the white collar underneath. Paired with black jeans and sneakers, or booties.

That’s probably as much style as I can muster up. I’m sorry that I don’t have a longer post, I’m just tied up with school and getting over my sickness. I hope you guys liked it! What are some of your favourite sweater styles?

Bunny Babbles: Current Loves 💙

I’ve been bedridden for a while and only now am I starting to feel better. So I wanted to make a blog post to share with you all. I’ve recently fallen in love with a couple products, some of which you’ve probably heard of, but I just wanted to talk about them a bit more.

The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Laca Nose Strips

Like everyone else, I get those stubborn blackheads around my nose and it’s very difficult to take them out completely. That’s why nose strips are my buddies! I also like putting these on my chin and forehead cause I get the tiny bumps there as well.

The Face Shop Smile Foot Relaxing Patches

These are actually a new product to me and I was pleasantly surprised. I never knew a relaxing patch would do so much for my feet! I’m often on my feet so these are really nice to put on after a day filled with adventures :3

Lush Mask of Magnaminty

If you’ve seen my previous posts, I’ve already raved about this mighty little mask. I especially really like putting it on when I know I haven’t been taken care of my skin as per usual. I like the tingly and clean feeling I get when I wipe it off. Also I look like an alien when I put it on which is always a fun time.

Keihl’s Blue Herb Spot Treatment

Another one of my buddies when it comes to me becoming lazy and spotty is this guy! It’s the Blue Herb Spot Treatment from Keihl’s and it really does work wonders! I have itty bitty red spots here and there, but the morning after I placed this on them they’re all gone! For the bigger, tougher pimples, it takes a couple of uses, but this guy is a real life saver!

Another one of my current loves is this book! “I Wrote This For You: Just The Words” by Iain S. Thomas. If you don’t know this about me, I actually really love books. I am an avid book reader and hope to write my own book one day. Lately, I’ve been reading a lot of poetry books but I also enjoy youth adult novels as well.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation – Hydrate + Smooth

One of my favourite foundations of all time is actually from the drugstore! I honestly believe that if it works for you, it works, it does’t matter if it’s high end or not. This little baby is super hydrating and leaves a dewy finish. I adore radiant, natural and dewy finishes of foundations.

Benefit Gimme Brow

I’ve been digging the simple makeup look  a lot lately, simply because I feel like when I’m sporting very minimal makeup I’m the most comfortable. A little help with my thin brows and making them appear fuller is this lovely. Gimme Brow by Benefit really helps to comb my little hairs in place as well as giving them just the slightest tint.

Nars Audacious Mascara

Another new product discovery, this lovely mascara was actually gifted to me by my oh so lovely little sister (she’s not my real little sister, but she might as well be) and I’m in love. I hate the waterproof mascaras because it’s tricky to take off without ripping my eyelashes off. This baby gives me fuller lashes and holds the curl of my lashes throughout the day. It doesn’t clump up on me and I only need to apply 1 coat to get my desired effect which is a plus to me since I’m lazy.

Tarte Tartlette in Bloom Palette

My last love as of late is this palette. I’m probably the last person to get this, but it was always sold out every time I went to my local Sephora. I finally managed to pick it up and I fell in love. It smells like hot chocolate with marshmallows in it! The colours are to die for though.

As a person who really likes browns, mauves and some shimmer, this is the perfect palette for me! I’ve been playing around with it a lot and I love the different types of looks I can create. It’s safe to say that all of these colours will get some loving from me 🙂

That concludes this post, I’m actually happy to be feeling better and being able to upload this for you guys. I need to rest up a bit and hope that this sickness goes away soon. I’m wearing the Mask of Magnaminty from Lush in this picture while I was editing my youtube video that will be up soon! What are some of your favourites ? Stay healthy friends! Being sick isn’t fun 😦

Lazy Girl Guide: Pampered Princess 👑

Everybody loves to get pampered, but not everybody is comfortable with or can afford to go to a spa every time we want to destress. However, I refuse to not be able to treat myself and take care of myself on my days off, and neither should you. I am a big fan of the phrase “treat yo self girl” and it’s probably one of the reasons why I’m broke all the time, also I have no self control. Anyways, there are so many different methods to pamper yourself and face masks is probably my favourite.

As a person who loves to look like a ghost or just plain scare the bejeezus out of my family members when I walk out of the washroom, I have tried my fair share of face masks. From clay based to sheet masks to ones you squeeze out of the package and it makes a gigantic mess, I’ve tried a bit of everything and I’ve picked up a couple of tricks as to how to multi-task with your face masks.

Let’s get started on preparing your face for it, and I know that this is the Lazy Girl Guide and it all should be one easy step, just put it on right? Although it’s not rocket science, I find that adding another step to the process really gives your face gets the full pampered feeling. All you have to do it scrub your face for a bit and wash it off. Easy right? I mean if I can do it, and I’m the laziest potato out there, you can definitely do it too.

There’s a lot of different types of scrubs and face masks and it can get a little confusing, but you can definitely find one that suits you. I use three different ones because I’m super indecisive.

I like to use the Biore (I can’t figure out to do the accent on the e and I’m lazy so, sorry) in the morning and when I just want to refresh my skin. Basically, I use it when my skin isn’t being difficult and I want to just wake myself up. I use the Papaya peel when I’m feeling extra stressed cause it peels away my dead skin cells and I slap on a face mask that feels super nourishing because life. The last one is the Ocean Salt face and body scrub, I like to use this when my skin is being extremely rude and wants to just break out on me. It scrubs away dirt and cleanses with the course sea salt, lime-vodka concoction and the avocado makes my face feel as smooth as a baby’s butt. The whole point of the scrub is to cleanse your face and take away all the dead skin cells so that your face can soak up all the good things inside your face mask.

Moving on to the different types of face masks. There are mainly 2, clay based and the sheet mask. Now sheet masks are 1 use only, that’s why it looks like I have a lot, I’m just stocking up on them. A lot of people think the sheet masks don’t do much, which is true if what you’re looking for is an acne treatment. However, for nourishment and leaving your skin soft and hydrated, these are the guys to reach for. Plus they’re $2 each.

Clay based masks are a little bit of an investment because there’s so many different ones, and some are really expensive. A common thing that turns people off from clay masks is the fact that they break you out at first. The reason for this is that the clay draw out all of the dirt and grime, so basically it pulls it to the surface. The result is little red demon mountains on your face. However, just keep using it and it’ll be sure to clear your skin! I like the Mask of Magnaminty, because it smells like peppermint heaven, but it really works for when my skin is breaking out and I need a good detox. It has a slight exfoliating effect, but it feels really soothing and fresh after I was it off.

I hope you guys enjoyed the post! That’s pretty much the basics of face masks, and I just washed mine off and my skin feels great. I’m super tired now so I’m gonna enjoy my hot chocolate and cuddle up with my Sasuke plush and watch some anime. What are some of your favourite ways to pamper yourself?

Lazy Girl Guide: Autumn Beauty Must-Haves

As the seasons change, I like to change up my beauty regimen to fit the time of year. I recently purchased some of these products, and some of them I use all year around. Here are some of the products that I use daily fro my fall routine.

IMG_5018.JPG{Clinique: Super Balanced Silk Makeup Foundation in Silky Sahara}

When the weather starts to get colder, my skin likes to react by getting drier and sometimes starts to flake. In order to counteract that and make sure that my face doesn’t look like a croissant throughout the day, I like to use a more natural finish foundation that still have a bit of SPF because skin cancer. I like the formula of this foundation so far, and it gives a sheer but build able coverage. Plus it smells good.

IMG_5019.JPG{LUSH: Sleepy Hand and Body Lotion}

Not only does my face get really dry, my body does too. I decided to pick up this hand and body lotion to give it a try. I AM IN LOVE. It smells and has the colour of lavender. The name isn’t just a way to get people to buy it, it actually makes you sleepy. Lavender has a way of calming and balancing the skin. After I put this on, I like to wear a big sweatband a pair of fuzzy socks and crawl into the sheets with a good book or a new episode of one of my favourite shows. Even though no one can see how ashy my knees and elbows can get during this time of year, I still like to moisturize. I want to be soft.

IMG_5021.JPG{Left to Right: First Aid Beauty – Face Cleanser, Fresh – Soy Face Cleanser, Simple – Light Moisturizer}

As for skin care this season, I like to use the two cleansers above to remove my makeup after coming home and just to wake me up in the morning. The First Aid Beauty cleanser works wonders on taking off makeup. I can wear winged liner and dark lipstick and it still manages to take it all off with one wash. The Fresh cleanser is good at taking off makeup as well, but I prefer to use it in the morning to freshen up my face and help me wake up. The Simple moisturizer doubles as a primer for me. I like to use it before I put on my makeup and before I go to bed. It’s refreshing and very nourishing without feeling greasy.

IMG_5023.JPG{Left to Right: Benefit – Gimme Brow in Medium, Benefit – Roller Lash}

I picked up these two at while I bought the two cleansers but in the mini sizes. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Benefit and I wanted to try them out. The Gimme Brow changed my eyebrow game. I have fairly thin eyebrows so I like to draw them on, but this product gives me just enough colour to fill in the space areas without making it look like a 4 year old went ham on my eyebrows with Crayola. It looks really natural and it makes my makeup routine so much shorter. The Roller Lash is a blessing as well. I don’t have the longest eyelashes and I am always tempted to buy false lashes. However, this gives my eyelashes length and volume. I prefer not to have clumpy lashes, and this gives me everything I want in mascara. I will definitely be purchasing the full sizes of these products when I run out of the minis.

IMG_5024.JPG{Left to Right: NYX Liqued Suede – Cherry Skies, MAC – Whirl, Smith’s Rosebud Salve, Colourpop – Love Bug}

I’m not so adventurous when it comes to lip colours. The most I go is a dark wine colour, which means that fall lip colours are right up my alley. NYX lipsticks are super affordable and the formula is amazing. Cherry Skies, a deep red wine, is for when you want to rock vampy look and I can wear it a whole day without needing to reapply. MAC lipsticks range in all sorts of colours and it gets a little confusing when I walk in there because there’s so many different shades. Whirl, a dirty rose, is amazing when you just want a “my lips but better” shade. For bronze/brown eyeshadows and neutral makeup looks, this is my go to lipstick, plus MAC lipsticks smell like vanilla. Smith’s Rosebud Salve is super hydrating and a nice way to give your natural “no makeup” makeup look a cute shine. I also like to put it over the other matte lipsticks in this picture to give it a bit of lustre and more of a subtle look. Colourpop lipsticks have been blowing up my Instagram feed for a while now so I wanted to see why people were so in love with it. I decided to go for Love Bug, a rich terracotta, is the perfect fall lip colour. The thing I like about Colourpop is it gives you swatches on different skin tones, so that you can have an idea to how it will suit your skin tone.

After revamping my whole beauty regimen I’m super excited to continue creating new fall looks to match the cooler weather. I should probably fix my shopping problem but that can wait for later. I hope you enjoyed the post! What are some of your fall favourite beauty products?
